More Republican hypocrisy

Wow, the news is providing me with so much blog fodder that I hardly need to think up any witty quips or amusing stories. And the reader comments following the article are so raw and pertinent, I don't even need to post a personal reaction to the story! All I need to do is come up with the title of my blog entry, which I feel is quite appropriate: More Republican hypocrisy.

Another Gay Republican Sex Scandal!

They did it again. These Republicans are unbelievable. This time it's the head of Young Republicans nationwide. It's another gay sex scandal. This one is even more serious because it involves non-consensual sex.

Glenn Murphy Jr. is chairman of the Clark County Republican Party and was just elected president of the Young Republican National Federation. But now he has to give up his spot because of yet another gay Republican sex scandal. He claims it's because he mysteriously and suddenly got a business offer he couldn't turn down. Yes, I'm sure it had nothing to do with the investigation the police just started against you.

Get a load of what this guy did......he lowered the pants of a young man while he was sleeping and tried to give him oral. Come on! Are there no bounds? The other man was not interested, was not gay and was not even awake. But when he did wake up he pursued charges against Murphy.

This isn't even the first time for Murphy. He did almost the same exact thing back in 1998 to another young man. Back then the boy he accosted in his sleep was 21. This time around, the boy as 22. Murphy is 33. By the way, why is a creepy 33 year old guy the head of the Young Republicans? Especially one who already has a track record of trying to give guys oral while they're sleeping.

Are there any Republicans left in the country who are not gay or involved in a sex scandal? It doesn't seem like it anymore. I think I left the Republican Party just in the nick of time, while I still have my pants on.

Watch The Young Turks Here

PS -- We do a segment called Republican Sexcapades every Thursday on our show. And in over a year that we have been doing the segment, we have never run out of material. I honestly can't believe how many sex scandals there have been involving Republicans lately. It makes our job too easy, and too much fun.

  1. I AM SO SICK OF HEARING ABOUT GAYS. KEEP IT IN THE DAMNED CLOSET. NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR THIS SICK SHIT. I HOPE ALL GAYS BURN IN HELL...IT IS NOT HOW GOD WANTED PEOPLE TO BEHAVE.

  2. I beg to differ, Carla #1...I believe your hatred for gays is far more reprehensible than what this guy did...and what he did was bad. What this guy did was beyond sleazy...the guy was right to pursue charges. It would be the same if he did it to a woman in her sleep. What is wrong with people? Wonder why the GOP left this guy in charge if they know it happened in 1998? What? The GOP burying a sex scandal? Can you say Mark Foley?

  3. What difference does it make if he's gay? I'm more disturbed about the fact that he's a sex offender who has positioned himself so that he has access to his victims. Are heterosexual rapists more appealing to you, Carla?

  7. Gays are people too. God loves them too. They deserve respect. Onto the republicans---this is what i expect. more and more scandals. this is what they do. the GOP is supposed to be the clean, moral party. The exact opposite is becoming true. The democrats now stand for truth and running a clean government. Hopefully one takes over the White House. Patrick at 11:00PM on Aug 10th 2007

  9. Gays need to take a lot more responsibility for reducing this behavior. When these incidents happen, we never hear the Gay Leadership denouncing these predators, and stressing that these criminals don't represent the character of gays. Instead, the Gays are more likely to defend the alleged predators. It's up to the Gay Leadership to define what their movement is all about and to distinguish themselves from the perverts who want to prey on uninterested/straight dudes.

  10. While I think this man's actions are reprehensible, this man's political affiliation had nothing to do with his deviant behavior.

  11. What does bbeing gay or straight have to do with a pervert that would molest him while he was sleeping. I have to wonder how many times he has done this and the young men are afraid or ashamed to report it. Get the perv out of that position and ARREST him.

  12. There's no surprise that this happens to Republicans over and over and over again. They are the party of anti-gay bigotry -- and yet like every other segment of the population, their ranks include those who were born gay. Such men try to hide it this from others, even from themselves to the extent possible. But for some, the struggle is more than they canm bear, and they thus express their sexuality in these furtive ways.We have an excellent example of this right here on Newsbloggers -- right-wing loon Dinesh D'Souza regular posts comments about gay men (rarely lesbians) with an obsessive fascination that suggests something quite different from disapproval...

  13. Who invented the aids drugs that saved the lives of tens of thousands of gays?Probably some rich republicanemployees of drug companies. It really does not matter to most people if someone is gay or not, unless the person who is gay is a member of their family. If someone wants to bring joy to their parents tell them you are gay that willreally make them happy.Ha-Ha

  14. THE MAIN QUESTION BEING,,,WAS HE GAY BY CHOICE, OR WAS HE A REPUBLICAN BY CHOICE? MY GUESS IS BOTH. IF HE WERE ALSO A MORMON AND BLACK, THAT MAY ALSO ADD TO THE PROBLEM. POLITICAL CORRECTNESS COUNTS SO MUCH TO THE YOUNG TERKS.
