Marvin's malady

This evening Marvin did something he's done a million times or more:  jump down from the sofa to the floor.  Only this time, he yelped as if he hurt himself.

I immediately got up to check on him, and he held his left paw up, not letting it touch the floor.  I asked him if he was okay, which is silly since he's a dog and can't answer me, but it just seemed like the thing to do.

He tried to walk, but limped really hard and stopped.  I picked him up and held him close to me, gave him some scratches on his head, told him I was sorry he hurt is leg but that he'd be okay, and placed him on Spouse's lap from which he'd leapt.

When its time for bed I will carry him outside and set him in the grass for his last pee of the night, and then carry him upstairs and place him gently on the bed.  Hopefully its minor and he'll feel better tomorrow.  He's almost 6 years old which is still 'young' for a Chihuahua whose life expectancy is often 15-20 years.

I'll keep you posted.

Harvey has hurt his back twice and one of his legs from normal activity (running, jumping, etc.) Our vet said small dogs are prone to injuries like this from their hyper activity. I hope Marvin feels better soon!
