I've mentioned before that Spouse & I started playing team trivia in the fall with Steven & Thad and The Bobs at a local watering hole. Last night we won 1st place again ($25. gift card)! What's funny to me is that we have so much fun doing this. If someone would have asked me "Do you think you'd have fun playing a group trivia game?" I would have smirked. But Steven & Thad and The Bobs got us into it and being with them is a big part of why we like it so much. And its not just about knowing the answers; its also about having a good wagering strategy. In last night's game we couldn't come to a consensus on the answer to a bonus question where you lose the points you wager if you're wrong. So we decided not to answer and lost no points. The other 9 teams all answered, got the answer wrong, and lost the points they wagered.
It snowed overnight. We seem to have gotten about 2-3 inches of the light, fluffy kind of snow. I can see it blowing off the rooftops. We don't get snow here often because of being so close to the ocean. Warmer air off the ocean is pulled up into the storms so we often get rain here when our friends 12 miles inland get several inches of snow. Its very pretty because the sun is shining brightly today.
I saw this over at the notorious j*o*e and just had to swipe it!Speaking of Project Runway, the new season (7) starts next Thurs the 14th! Its back in NYC (thank god) and they promise Michael Kors and Nina Garcia will be in every episode. Let's just hope and pray the 'talent' is there this season.
Part of my New Year's resolution to re-invent my appearance involves experimenting with my facial hair and finding a new hairstyle. Now, experimenting with my facial hair is somewhat tricky for me because my 'beard' is very light in color and does not grow in evenly. I didn't shave for 2 full weeks and was hoping for a cool, scruffy face look, but it just wasn't working. (Hey, I can dream, right?) So yesterday I shaved my cheeks and neck, leaving a 'stache/goatee combo. (Click to enlarge, if you dare.)
I'm also letting my hair grow out of the fauxhawk style. I really liked the fauxhawk but I'm tired of it for me. 5 years is long enough. I want something new and different. I'm letting my hair grow out to give me more options. Here is my current hair experiment, minus the fauxhawk.
My friend Jared who often supplies me with gems to share with you on Friday fragments sent me this amazing walrus video. To me, what's even funnier than the walrus is the people's reactions!! Enjoy.

"Anyone have other nutritional, tasty, convenient breakfast food ideas?"
-If you like eggs, hardboiled eggs are great source of protein. You can cook a few in advance and keep in fridge...just not too many in one week!
-Whole grain toast or waffle spread with natural peanut butter (fiber and protein)
-Yogurt with fruit and/or lowfat granola (esp. in summer)
-I also like to make breakfast sandwiches on the Arnold's 100 calorie sandwich thins--use eggs/Egg beaters, low fat cheese and Canadian bacon--you can make the night before and microwave the next morning
Oooh, I have such a rush on Ronan. Love his music - just beautiful.
The great thing about trying new configurations of facial hair is the razor is never far away...
Love the cartoon! I need to keep that one.
My facial hair grows so fast. I miss two days and it's gone far past the 5 o'clock shadow. Three days and I start to look bad. I hate hate shaving. I wish I could go longer!
Two weeks and I'd have a full on beard. Of course it comes out mostly gray now but still grows like a weed.
The beard looks great!
Ronan used to be cute, but then he opened his mouth and spoke.
Don't be discouraged my friend. It took me ages to grow a decent beard and I still wish it was thicker and fuller. Wait...what was I talking about? Oh right. My beard. I think it looks stylishly cool; give it another couple of weeks and men will swoon at your feet. Oh wait...they already do!
Looking good! Since your beard grows so slowly, you could add a little color to it with that 5 minute beard and stach color. I've used it before to cover the gray in my goatee - cheap and easy just like me. :)
I am so jealous of that walrus :)
I like your hair!
^Bob, what are you talking about?? You have a GREAT beard--ME! ;)
I like the facial hair you've got now. Give it a fair chance to grow out more.
I love the Prostitute sign!
I second bunny's breakfast picks!
and I will take you AND the crush today for a 3-some!
I think if you are going to be facially experimental, you should REALLY grow out your goatee to give it presence. Not ZZ top bushy, but not super short. We're talking some length.
I think that would look really good. Plus its good for winter!
Great post on different things. I really love the facial hair so far. It looks good. It reminds me of a star but I can't think of his name right now and it's going to drive me nuts! I email you when I think of it.
That last picture of you looks great, but why does it have Ronan written on it? Just joshing... I think the facial hair looks great and will get better as it gets longer.
Loving the facial hair buddy! Its fun to change it up every now and then! Plus isnt it nice to not shave for a bit sometimes!
Can't you leave well enough alone? ;)Well Well Well it must be nice "experimenting" with hair styles. Try experimenting with baldness.rrrrrrrrr You got that Ronan Keating thing going and he's a cutie too. As far as facial hair let it grow. Facial hair does funny things when it grows like turn gray. Just do the Van Dyke and let the chin grow about an inch or so and trim the mustache however you like. Be patient grasshopper.
