Addition update - week 2

Well, here we are at the end of week 2. There wasn't as much 'visible' progress this week, although I know there were many things going on in the background, such as ordering supplies, scheduling supplies for delivery, coordinating with subcontractors, etc. Here's a recap:

Week 2
Mon:
No activity. I imagine they were working on another project elsewhere, as it is common practice for builders and crews to work on more than one project at a time.

Tues: The sidewalk connecting the driveway to porch is removed, to make way for the digging of the footers.
The footers were dug...
and steel rebar reinforcements were laid in the footers.
Concrete was poured into the footers.

Wed: No activity. The concrete footers needed time to dry or 'cure'.
Thurs: The cinder blocks were delivered for the foundation.

Fri: The foundation was built. From the side...
Front and side...
Close-up...
I spoke with the builder this afternoon and he gave me a 'heads up' about what will happen next week: building the garage walls and pouring the concrete floor. So next week there should be a lot more 'visible' progress in the photos.

This will be fun to watch from week to week to see the progress being made. I also see Geovanny has some progress being made of his own in there!

Looks like they made some pretty good progress, really. I love how they dug the footers so square.

Where does that white door go that's perpendicular to the red side door? Well, while I'm at it, which room does that red door enter? If you feel like it, please take some interior pictures sometime. Inquiring minds want to know. :-)

I look forward to Saturdays and seeing the progress! Thanks so much! It's like watching HGTV, one of my favorite channels!

Loving the progress, but I'm worried about Joy. Is she casing the place?
I'd alert security!
=)

A lot of the groundwork is being done, literally. After that, the work will move way too fast. We may have to go with more than just Saturday updates. :-) Hope your weekend is going well.

I would have a complete meltdown if it were me. I can't stand to have things out of place or strange people in my home.

(But it's gonna be gorgeous when it's finished...)

Fortunately, he also does well with strange people asking about his home. Cute, Bob! LOL

I'm nosy and like to look inside people's houses. Well, not everybody. It's neat to see how people decorate and how they live. Yep, nosy nosy nosy!! Love it!

So, c'mon, Blog friends, show photos! I won't come over and steal anything because I have no room to put it in my house. I can't post any of mine until I get some "after" pictures.
