However, this Australian ad for Naked brand condoms which shows a couple 'trying out' the condom in the drug store was so racy that even typically liberal Australia decided it was too much.
'Tales of the Sissy' is a play on words related to Armistead Maupin's novel 'Tales of the City' which chronicles the daily lives of several seemingly unrelated people. Since my blog chronicles my daily life and I am gay (hence the stereotype 'sissy'), I decided to call my blog 'Tales of the Sissy'.

Racy ad
In the world of advertising, the US is known for being among the strictest when it comes to morality, nudity, and implied sex. Many ads are perfectly acceptable in Europe and Asia, but are unacceptable here.
However, this Australian ad for Naked brand condoms which shows a couple 'trying out' the condom in the drug store was so racy that even typically liberal Australia decided it was too much.
Personally I didn't find all that racy. What do you think?

Honey or vinegar
Surely you've heard the saying "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar". The point is that you have a greater chance of persuading someone to do something if you are polite and complimentary rather than confrontational. Its all about the presentation.
This old saying came to mind when I saw this new, sexy ad called "Knowing", which advocates HIV testing and knowing your status. Unlike the old HIV testing ads which were clinical, 'matter of fact', and maybe evoked a little fear of not knowing, this ad takes a very humanistic approach to HIV testing, in my opinion.
I have a feeling this type of ad will be much more effective than the old, clinical style ads. What do you think??

Commercial
About a month ago I wrote about being filmed for a commercial. The real estate team of which I am a member filmed a commercial with some of our clients that will appear on a local TV station in Nov, Dec, and Jan.
Now that all the edits and tweaks are completed, I can share the commercial with you now:
Can you find me?
I'm in 1 'live action' scene and in the group scene at the end.
What do you think? Would you list or buy a home from us?

Commercial
Today I was involved in the filming of a commercial.
Not a commercial for a product, but rather for my real estate team. Its a short commercial that will only be 30 seconds long, with 6 or 7 very short vignettes featuring team members with clients, and intro and closing shots of the entire team.
When considering which of our clients to invite to participate in this project, we took care to show diversity. We had a 'senior' couple (my clients), a 'young' couple with a baby (also my clients), a gay couple, an inter-racial couple, a middle-aged white couple, and a middle-aged single woman. I am pretty happy about that.
The actual filming went more smoothly than I anticipated. Most of the vignettes were done in just 2 takes. But who knows how long the editting and voice-over work will take. I hope to post a link to the commercial when its done.
