Addition update - week 9

Week 9
Mon:
The exterior trim (installed last week) was caulked and then painted (the same color). I had a consultation with the plumber regarding the placement of the shower heads and water controls in the shower. From a catalog we selected fixtures that coordinate with the sink fixtures we're keeping. The crew only worked 1/2 day due to extreme heat and humidity. I didn't take any photos since there was nothing to see.

Tues: Dave the plumber was here all day long, installing the pipes and connecting the new stuff to the existing plumbing. Its hard to tell from this shot, but there are lots of pipes concealed in the garage ceiling. The water controls for the shower.
In the photo below, in the upper right is water pipe for 'rain' style shower head. In the lower left, sticking out of the wall just below the slanted roof, is the water pipe for the 2nd shower head with hand-held sprayer. (So exciting, right?)
Here's the toilet drain in the toilet closet. I thought of Tornwordo when I took this photo.
Mike the builder and I selected the shower door, and I showed him the tile we'd selected. That's when we discovered the floor tile had no trim pieces. (See yesterday's post.)

Wed: I had a consultation with the insulation guy. Who knew there would be choices about insulation? Dave the plumber completed his work, and the application of the siding started. From the side:

Thurs: Siding work continued. From the side:

Fri: Siding work continued. From the back:

I'm amazed at how fast this is happening for you. Your builder doesn't seem to be wasting any time at all! It looks wonderful.

Progressing nicely. And kudos to your architect, it blends right in with the rest of the house. That's a hard trick to pull of.

Yeah, great job on the matching. Love the updates, thanks for thinking of me :P

Still progressing nicely. Again, I would be nuts by now, you must have the patience of Jobe.

Amazing how fast it goes at this stage, and yet I'll bet for you it seems very slow...

Wow! Lots of progress. It looks like they've done an excellent job at matching the colors for the exterior siding.

I think I'm missing the side porch! I guess it'll have to be the front porch!

Once the siding is completed, the addition will look pretty "normal" from the outside. You know, like a house instead of like construction. The interior will take longer, of course.

And yes, I think water pipes are exciting! I think construction is exciting, but I'm easily amused. :)

I like the shower, too. It does match really well. The house is very pointy.

Looking good. What kind of siding? Is that Hardi Plank, metal? I'm getting excited for you.
